Native of Kyoto, Japan, Sung Rae Cho, or Shoichi to all, spent his adolescence in
the Southern states of Georgia and Florida, and finally, New York City. During college years, he embarked his passion of storytelling through cinematic language. Shortly before graduation, Shoichi entered thriving independent film scene in New York, quickly climbing up the traditional camera department ladder as a focus puller and camera operator.  Some of his credits include Iron Man 2, Limitless, RED, You Don’t Know Jack, Person of Interest, Gossip Girl, Treme, among many others with many of the world’s most celebrated filmmakers.
Shoichi started being involved as a cinematographer on shorts and small commercials/music videos meanwhile. Just over 2 years ago he began to focus on lensing dramatic features, lensing dramatic and international documentary features since. Home is Shoichi’s 7th dramatic feature.
